Spratt Endicott recognises the importance of developing and retaining trainee solicitors, which is why we take time to carefully select our trainees and provide a structured training programme.

The majority of our trainees who successfully qualify are offered positions within the firm, and a number of our Directors started their careers as trainees.

What do we look for in a trainee?

The firm does look for good academic qualifications. However common sense, a can-do attitude and the ability to organise yourself and work as part of a team are key to a successful career with us.

The qualities that we look for in our trainees include a real enthusiasm for a career in law, being personable, proactive, professional and conscientious.

It is important that you have excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to providing first-class legal services to our clients and the ability and confidence to excel in whatever you do.

Training Contract

Generally, a trainee will complete 4 seats; each seat will be for a period of 6 months, in contentious and non-contentious departments including:

  • Commercial
  • Commercial Property
  • Employment
  • Dispute Resolution
  • Family
  • Private Client
  • Residential Property
