Important new changes to employment law rates

New compensation rates will apply from 1 February 2012:

  • The limit on compensatory award for unfair dismissal claims will rise from £68,400 to £72,300; and
  •  The maximum amount of a week’s pay for the purposes of calculating statutory redundancy payments and the basic award in unfair dismissal claims will increase from £400 to £430

These new limits will apply to dismissals which take place on or after 1 February 2012.
