"An Assured Tenancy can not be brought to an end by the Landlord except by obtaining an Order of the Court in accordance with the following provisions” – Section 5(1) Housing act 1988.
It is important for Landlords to follow the correct procedure to ensure the recovery of their property and rent arrears.
There are two types of Court proceedings which are most commonly used when Landlords want possession back of their property and/or the Tenants are in arrears of rent. These are:-
1. Standard possession procedure.
2. Accelerated possession procedure.
