Fallen out with your neighbour recently? You're not alone. Roughly one million Brits have been forced to move house as a result of a neighbourly feud.
According to life assistance company CPP, arguments with neighbours have led to one in twenty homeowners selling up and moving out.
Among the reasons given for disputes, home and garden maintenance issues were top of the list, with 27% of feuds due to people leaving their homes, gardens and streets in a state of disrepair. Excessive noise was the second highest issue (15%), while arguments over boundaries (7%), stolen parking spaces (7%) and trespassing children (6%) completed the list.
CPP found that 16% of those surveyed have had a verbal argument with a neighbour in the past, with 2% ending in violence.
It's clear that without a quick resolution, arguments between neighbours can easily escalate. Britons paid out a collective £100 million over the past 12 months trying to rectify a neighbourly dispute.
However, 12% of those surveyed believe that having easy access to legal advice could help them solve a dispute.
