Stamp Duty for first time buyers
If you are a genuine first time buyer - ie somebody who has not previously owned a property either in this country or the rest of the world - you will not have to pay Stamp Duty Land Tax in connection with your purchase, as long as the purchase price is less than £250,000 and you complete your purchase before 25th March 2012.
