The Women’s Tour visits Banbury & Bicester

On Monday 4th of October, Banbury-based law firm Spratt Endicott hosted to the press and media centre for the Women’s Tour during stage one of the event from their offices overlooking Banbury Cross. Our employees were proud to support the event at the start from our offices in Sheep St, Bicester and in the closing stages and at the finish from our Banbury office

Andrew Woods, Managing Director of the firm commented: “We are delighted to be involved as such an important event in the sporting calendar visits Oxfordshire. We have been established both in Banbury and Bicester for a long time so it feels fitting that we are able to support an event so close to our home.

Many of our team here are keen cyclists, and we have all been very excited to see the community coming together through the weeks leading up to the Tour. The atmosphere in Banbury has been fantastic and we are delighted that we have been able to be involved.”

We were especially proud to have a member of the firm, Heidi Yates, a Legal Assistant in ourin our Banbury office and a keen local cyclist Yates has recently qualified as a Breeze Ride Leader, an initiative supported by Cherwell District Council to increase the number of female riders by arranging group rides for women interested in cycling, Take part in the stage as one  of a group of riders  to start the race, riding out ahead of the peloton in Bicester. Heidi Yates also had the honour of being chosen  to present Marta Bastianelli, the stage winner, with her jersey as the inaugural Race Leader for this year’s Women’s Tour.

Yates commented on the event: “ Riding through Bicester at the start of the stage was such a fantastic experience. It’s incredible to see this level of support for a women’s sporting event in Oxfordshire.

It was such an honour to be asked to present the leader’s jersey at the end as well, this is such a prestigious event and I’m delighted that I could be involved.”
