Corporate Social Responsibility & Environment

Spratt Endicott Solicitors is committed to ensuring that all aspects of our business activities are conducted in an ethical and professional manner, minimising the impact on the environment. We are committed to operating to the highest possible legal standards with a strong sense of integrity, developing and maintaining trust with our clients and business partners.

We believe Community, Diversity and Environmental issues are key to Corporate Social Responsibility. We aim to take an active role in the local area and business community, and to do all we can to help improve our region through charitable donation and supporting initiatives that make a difference to people.

Charity and Community:

Every year, we adopt one main charity as our “Charity of the Year" which is then our main focus for fundraising activities. Our staff raise funds individually and collectively for a local nominated and elected charity.

We have been raising funds for a Charity of the Year since our formation in 2002. Our fundraising starts on 1st May each year and runs to 30th April the next year, so we have a full financial year to raise funds.

In 2019, our Social & Charity committee are raising funds for BYHP – Banbury Young Homelessness Project.

BYHP – Banbury Young Homelessness Project was founded in 2001 and operates throughout the surrounding areas of Banbury, Bicester and Brackley. The charity aims to support young people between the ages of 13 and 25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. BYHP offer services to help young people get their lives on track, whether it’s through counselling and mediation or providing training and employability workshops, so that they can learn to stand on their own two feet.

As well as our charity of the year we sponsor or provide support to a variety of local charities and organisations where there is a link with our people, the local community or the legal industry in general. A number of our Directors and staff also engage in legal pro bono work or take part as individuals in charitable events.

Going Green – The Environment:

We recognise that our activities have an impact on the environment. We want to limit these impacts as far as possible, and view compliance with environmental law not as a benchmark but a minimum requirement.

We are committed to ensuring that our business is environmentally responsible and believe it is essential for us to achieve continuous improvements and support external initiatives.

To address key issues of concern and minimise our environmental impact we commit to reducing the production of waste and recycle wherever possible. We also aim to conserve energy through efficient use of natural resources and manufactured products such as paper.

These commitments are set out in our Environmental Policy which is central to our business. The environment policy is reviewed on an annual basis. The policy is implemented by our Green team which meets monthly to promote environmental awareness and reduce waste.
