An active role in the local area and business community

Charity and Community

Every year, we adopt one main charity as our “Charity of the Year” which is then our main focus for fundraising activities. Our staff raise funds individually and collectively for a local nominated and elected charity.

We have been raising funds for a Charity of the Year since our formation in 2002. Our fundraising starts on 1st May each year and runs to 30th April the next year, so we have a full financial year to raise funds.

Our most recent Charity of the Year has been Banbury Young Homelessness Project (BYHP). Whilst BYHP is known locally as an organisation helping homeless young people, we have in fact grown as a charity and now support all young people aged between 13 and 25 with a range of services. We offer services in three core areas, all known to help prevent the route causes of youth homelessness. BYHP supports between 200 and 300 young people annually:

As well as our charity of the year we sponsor or provide support to a variety of local charities and organisations where there is a link with our people, the local community or the legal industry in general. A number of our Directors and staff also engage in legal pro bono work or take part as individuals in charitable events.

Charity and Community

We recognise that our activities have an impact on the environment. We want to limit these impacts as far as possible, and view compliance with environmental law not as a benchmark but a minimum requirement.

We are committed to ensuring that our business is environmentally responsible and believe it is essential for us to achieve continuous improvements and support external initiatives.

To address key issues of concern and minimise our environmental impact we commit to reducing the production of waste and recycle wherever possible. We also aim to conserve energy through efficient use of natural resources and manufactured products such as paper.
