Spratt Endicott recognises the importance of developing and retaining trainee solicitors, which is why we take time to carefully select our trainees and provide a structured training programme.

The majority of our trainees who successfully qualify are offered positions within the firm, and a number of our Directors started their careers as trainees.

What do we look for in a trainee?

The firm does look for good academic qualifications. However common sense, a can-do attitude and the ability to organise yourself and work as part of a team are key to a successful career with us.

The qualities that we look for in our trainees include a real enthusiasm for a career in law, being personable, proactive, professional and conscientious.

It is important that you have excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to providing first-class legal services to our clients and the ability and confidence to excel in whatever you do.

Each year Spratt Endicott limits the number of trainees we recruit, offering all trainees a quality experience working alongside experts in each field of law during their training contract.

Training Contract

Generally, a trainee will complete 4 seats; each seat will be for a period of 6 months, in contentious and non-contentious departments. We do ask before starting your training contract for your ‘seat’ preferences so we can try to accommodate these in line with the business needs.
