The estimate above is based on your will being relatively straight forward, If any of the following are true, we strongly recommend a meeting to discuss your Will, as there may be complications:
- The estimate above is based on your will being relatively straight forward
- If you have assets (including your house) worth in excess of £325,000
- If you have made significant gifts in the past 7 years which when added to the value of your estate exceed £325,000
- If you have a former spouse whom you maintain or children of any age from a previous marriage
- If any of your intended beneficiaries are physically or mentally incapacitated
- If you own or share a business, agricultural property or property abroad
- If you wish to 'cut out' a close relative such as a spouse, child or grandchild from your Will
If you own assets jointly with anyone other than your spouse/civil PartnerAny Will is usually cancelled if you marry or enter into a Civil Partnership after making it.
On divorce, gifts to a Husband or Wife/Civil Partner are cancelled and a new Will should be made.
