Banbury Cross Players appreciative of Spratt Endicott support

October 16th 2017

Spratt Endicott Solicitors has committed to another season of sponsorship for Banbury Cross Players, taking the law firm’s support for the organisation into its fourth year.

The relationship with Banbury Cross Players is part of the leading Oxfordshire law firm’s continued commitment to helping the local community. The sponsorship provides the theatre group with much needed funds to help cover theatre costs, marketing literature and other expenses incurred throughout their forthcoming season of productions.

With four shows prepared for 2017/2018, the amateur theatre group presented its Season Preview on 26th September, where Banbury Cross Players showcased an introduction of the performances scheduled for the season ahead.

David Endicott
, Managing Director of Spratt Endicott Solicitors said: “Our head office overlooks the Fine Lady Statue and Banbury Cross, which reinforces our sense of being at the heart of the community, and is something we take very seriously. Banbury Cross Players provide marvellous entertainment for the town and their productions really are excellent, so we’re delighted to offer them our support.”

Founded in 1945, Banbury Cross Players are a well-respected, award-winning group of local actors, technicians, back stage and support crew, who pledge their spare time and energy to putting on productions for the local community. Completely self-funded, the group relies on its audiences and businesses of the town, as well as the hard work of its members to continue its performances.

Over the course of the coming season, the players will be putting on four productions. The first of which, in November, is ‘Season’s Greetings’ written by the acclaimed Alan Ayckbourn. In February 2018, the group will undertake Daniel Haig’s ‘My Boy Jack’, with ‘People’ by Alan Bennett set for April. The final production of the season will see Banbury Cross Players perform ‘The Cripple of Innishmaan’ by Martin McDonagh.

Linda Shaw, of Banbury Cross Players, said: “We have a busy season planned for 2017/18 and the support from Spratt Endicott plays a huge part in enabling that to happen. Not only do they provide much needed financial assistance, which helps to ensure we can afford to carry on performing, but they’re firm backers of what we do in other ways, taking the time to come to our productions, as well as helping to promote us via their own social media channels and spreading the word of what we’re up to.”

Linda continued: “Receiving the backing from a professional company of Spratt Endicott’s standing is a real boost for us as an organisation and serves to add polish to our own prestige. We’re extremely grateful for their support as well as the wider community’s.”
