Case Studies

  • Substantial Property Portfolio
Howards acted for a property company in purchasing a large portfolio from a liquidator a few years ago, the value of which was nearly £5million. All properties were successfully let on medium term leases.

The client is longstanding and loyal, and Howard continues to act for them as they increase their portfolio, with several acquisitions each year with a consequent grant of leases to industrial tenants. The properties are mainly in Bicester and surrounding areas, but the portfolio's reach extends to the North East.
  • Ten Acre Land Sale for Residential Development
Acting for a landowner, Howard sold ten acres of land to a national home developer for residential development, and entered into a conditional contract for further development on adjoining land, conditional upon planning consent being obtained.

Howard had to deal with solicitors for the homebuilder, the legal department of the planning promoters for the local authority legal team, and the client's land agent, drawing all the threads of the negotiations and heads of terms to a successful exchange of contracts. The client has since instructed Howard on new projects of a similar sort.

  • "Howard and Jane Meakin were great throughout the whole process. As we were first time buyers we didn't know what was involved with the process of buying a house. They were brilliant with explaining everything to us every step of the way. I would definitely recommend Spratt Edicott Truman to friends and family. "
