Spratt Endicott Announces Merger with Alfred Truman Solicitors

October 1st 2014

Spratt Endicott are delighted to announce that they have merged with Alfred Truman Solicitors of Bicester and Buckingham, and are excited at the opportunities and benefits for clients that this merger will bring. The merged firm will be made up of 13 partners, and the combined experience of both firms will serve to offer current and new clients an improved service and greater expertise in resolving any legal issue.

Both Spratt Endicott and Alfred Truman are highly respected law firms with established commercial, property and private client departments.  Together, the firms provide a full range of legal expertise across ten departments, including commercial and corporate law, dispute resolution, employment and debt recovery. Spratt Endicott and Alfred Truman’s combined resources result in one firm that has a broad reach across three counties. The new firm is excited to develop relationships in this territory with both existing clients and new business prospects.

John Spratt, Partner at Spratt Endicott Solicitors, said: “This merger is between two established law firms who want to work together in offering clients a broader range of expertise and improved access to that expertise. Our vision is to maintain and grow our reputation as a respected law firm delivering personalised legal services. We want to enjoy success and growth for our clients, our firm and our business partners.”

Howard Meakin, Partner at Alfred Truman Solicitors comments. “This merger is a really good opportunity for both companies. We are proud of Alfred Truman’s heritage and an excellent reputation in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, but we also understand that clients need a broad spectrum of specialist expertise.  We are delighted to now be joining with a firm who are large enough to offer a full range of expertise, whilst still sharing our values and commitment to client service.”

Whilst both Spratt Endicott and Alfred Truman enjoy a strong heritage, they are firmly looking to the future.  They will be investing in further technology and improved processes in order to support their clients’ legal needs effectively.  This focus on investment, both in terms of technology and ongoing training of their staff, will ensure clients receive efficient, highly personalised legal services at all times.

Shamsher Pangu, Partner at Alfred Truman Solicitors, commented: “Our existing clients can be assured that they will continue to receive the same level of client service and contact with partners, but they will now have access to over 100 experienced staff working in 10 specialist departments, covering the full spectrum of legal expertise.”

Earlier this year, Spratt Endicott changed their status to that of a limited company, in line with modern, efficient business practices.  The company will retain its existing trading names in their offices in Banbury and Brackley, whilst the newly merged offices in both Bicester and Buckingham will be known as Spratt Endicott Truman Solicitors.

David Endicott, Partner at Spratt Endicott Solicitors, added: “The growth and development of Bicester is very exciting to us. I speak on behalf of all the partners here in saying that we want to build both firms together and provide a real choice of quality legal services to people living and working in and around Bicester and Buckingham.”

The two firms will now trade together and will have a combined turnover of £6m, employing over 100 people.  The newly merged company plans to grow the business by 15% per year going forward and invest a significant amount of time in continuing to develop staff.
