On Thursday 10th November Spratt Endicott was visited by The Katharine House Hospice for a photoshoot with 7 of our Santa fun runners!
Because Katharine House Hospice is Spratt Endicott’s Charity of the Year, we offered to pay the entrance fee for any of our staff wanting to get involved, and we’re thrilled that so many have signed up!
Victoria Bullard from our Commercial Property department and one of the Santas pictured, said: “When my sister Mary and I heard about the Santa Fun Run we thought it sounded like a really fun way of raising money for the firm’s charity of the year and, at the same time, getting some much needed exercise and spending time with our colleagues. Katharine House helped a very close relative of ours in her time of need and we are so very grateful to them for the love and care they provided at this time.
A run like this really raises awareness for what the charity does as eyes are caught straight away by the huge Santa suits! We are very happy to be taking part in something for such a great cause as this.”
Over 100 people have signed up already but there’s still plenty of time to register.
Chris Higgins, Communications Officer at Katharine House, said; “This Christmas Day it will cost us £10,000 to keep our hospice services running and support patients and their families facing life-limiting illnesses.
We’re so pleased that Spratt Endicott have chosen us as their charity of the year; they’ve already come up with some fantastic fundraising events and we’re delighted they’ll be turning out in force to join hundreds of others at our Santa Fun Run this year. Every pound they raise will help local people in their most difficult times, and everyone at the hospice is hugely grateful.”
The Santa Fun Run is taking place on Sunday, 4th December at Spiceball Park in Banbury and aims to raise money for the hospice whilst providing some festive fun for the whole family. Everyone who signs up will receive a Santa outfit to run in and, once completed, will receive a medal and a mince pie.
Last year, the Santa Fun Run raised a fantastic £20,000. This was enough to keep the hospice running for 2 whole days.
To enter the fun run, it’s £15 for adults, £8 for children, free for children under 6 or £40 for a family. You can choose whether you would like to complete the 4km or 1km course. There will also be live music, food and entertainment.
