Spratt Endicott Solicitors appoints new Managing Director

May 3rd 2018

Leading Oxfordshire law firm, Spratt Endicott, has appointed a new Managing Director, as its former MD stands down after 16 years at the helm.

Andrew Woods has been appointed Managing Director of Spratt Endicott Solicitors and is set to continue the work of David Endicott, whose leadership over the course of 16 years has seen the firm develop into a team of more than 140, spread across four offices in three counties; Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire, while the firm has also been recognised for its expertise in the Legal 500 UK – the comprehensive guide to recommended lawyers.

Andrew Woods, who has been with Spratt Endicott since its formation in 2002, is well-positioned to take over from David Endicott having played an instrumental part in the growth and development of the firm in the intervening period. In his position as Head of Commercial Property, a position he’ll retain alongside that of Managing Director, Andrew has successfully grown his department, while also managing the overall firm’s expansion plans – including its head office expansion into Linden House in Banbury, the refurbishment of its Bicester office, the opening of the Brackley office and its recent move to prestigious offices in the Old Town Hall, Buckingham.

With the backing of all of the firm’s Directors and Managers (across HR, Accounts, Marketing, Office Services, IT and Risk, Quality & Compliance), Andrew’s new responsibilities will see him tasked with evolving the business yet further and building on the firm’s track record of success.

Commenting on his new role, Andrew said: “I have a huge amount of respect for all that David has achieved for the firm, and as the new Managing Director, I am excited to be building on the success of the last 16 years.  We have an incredible team of talented people at Spratt Endicott, who work together to achieve great things for our clients. I am proud to have this opportunity and look forward to our future.”

Despite stepping down from his position as Managing Director, David Endicott will remain on the Board of Directors and Head of Private Client. David said of Andrew’s appointment: “Andrew has been a fantastic asset to Spratt Endicott ever since its formation. We are very fortunate to have someone of Andrew’s calibre so passionately committed to the firm. By appointing him as MD, we’re taking a proactive approach with a natural succession, while giving us the confidence that Spratt Endicott is being taken forward in an extremely safe and capable pair of hands.”

Alongside David and Andrew on the Board of Directors are Martin Hughes, Head of Debt Recovery, and John Spratt as Chairman and Head of Commercial, the founding partner alongside David Endicott in 2002.

John Spratt said of the transition: “We are delighted to have Andrew as the new MD, and we have every confidence in what he brings to the role and the future of the firm.  Andrew is not only a hugely respected solicitor who has built a successful Commercial Property department, but his vision for the firm’s growth has been instrumental to our success.”

Spratt Endicott’s philosophy is not only to attract highly talented individuals to the firm, but also to reward and promote from within.  With Andrew’s recent appointment, the firm has also made promotions within the Commercial Property team, with both Michael Campbell and Andrew Querelle appointed as Directors, and solicitor Emma Buck is now an Associate.
