Spratt Endicott Solicitors ongoing sponsorship of Banbury West End Junior Tennis

April 24th 2017

Banbury’s West End junior tennis club is delighted to have received sponsorship for another year from Spratt Endicott Solicitors.

The sponsorship enables the club to purchase balls and equipment for its junior players, as it helps to develop the next generation of tennis enthusiasts, giving them the necessary skills to compete to a high standard.

Spratt Endicott is a leading Legal 500 Oxfordshire law firm with offices in Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire, with its head office in Banbury. The local community is central to the firm’s philosophy and it sponsors a number of local endeavours, with Banbury’s West End tennis club just one of the many regional causes it supports.

John Spratt, Chairman of Spratt Endicott Solicitors said: “We are proud that our roots are firmly based in Banbury, and supporting local organisations and events helps to strengthen these roots further. We promote the pursuit of excellence across the full spectrum of effort and all forms of endeavour – not just sport – and it’s something we’ll be continuing to do now and in the future.”

John, a tennis player himself, mainly plays in national and international seniors’ tournaments, and is ranked in the top 10 in Great Britain.  He acknowledged: “Tennis, and Banbury West End club in particular, is a cause close to my heart having represented the club as ‘A’ team captain in the past, which took us as far as representing Great Britain in the European Club Championships in the 90s. Bringing on the next generation of tennis players at the club is essential if it’s to continue to thrive and we’re delighted to offer our support.”

Banbury West End Tennis Club, lies just outside of Banbury in the village of Adderbury, having moved there from Banbury 40 years ago. The club has a private car park, six tennis, and two squash courts, and plenty of activities for players of all levels, meaning Banbury West End offers something for everyone.

There are adult beginner, improver, and advanced lessons, and several teams in local leagues for both tennis and squash. This year, the club is also adding Pilates to its portfolio of activities. For children it starts with tots, moving up to improvers, and competitive team play. It has children in the county squads for all sports, with over 150 children participating in the club’s summer term programme.

Jenny Edwards, Head Coach at Banbury West End tennis club said: “We want to thank Spratt Endicott for the generous sponsorship that Spratt Endicott gave to the Junior Tennis last season. The balls and equipment we were able to buy helped the coaches to deliver quality lessons to the children with tots, Reds, Oranges, Greens and Juniors all benefitting. The junior coaching programme, run by Rosie Clark, has seen nearly 200 children in group and individual coaching across the course of winter and summer. Without Spratt Endicott’s continued generosity, generating this level of engagement would be a real struggle, so we’re extremely grateful to them.”

Spratt Endicott is committed to supporting a wide range of local organisations across Banbury, Bicester, Brackley and Buckingham.  These include many sports clubs and associations, performing arts, charitable causes and local community events such as Bicester’s Big Lunch, Brackley’s Christmas lights and the Buckingham Literary Festival.
