The MALA Annual Ball 2016

On Friday 14th October, Sandeep Sandhu, Family Law Solicitor at Spratt Endicott, attended the Midlands Asian Lawyers Association (MALA) 2016 Annual Ball.

The Ball takes place at Athena in Leicester and this year more than 500 lawyers, judges and legal professionals attended. The guest speaker was High Court Judge, The Hon. Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb who spoke of her experience of being the first Asian female judge in the United Kingdom, and how she achieved her status within the industry.

Sandeep was excited to attend the ball, which is a highlight in the social calendar for many legal professionals, for the chance to network and meet with other like-minded solicitors from the across the region.

Whilst at the ball, Sandeep met Harjap Bhangal, award winning immigration lawyer and well-known TV reporter. Harjap founded London Immigration, which offers specialist legal advice on all issues surrounding immigration and recently appeared on Sky 1’s Ross Kemp’s Britain discussing the impact of immigration on the UK.

Sandeep said: “The MALA ball is all about promoting diversity within the legal profession and it’s a great way of meeting other lawyers from all across the Midlands.

The ball is open to everyone in the legal profession and I’m proud to work for a firm which supports the MALA ball and celebrates diversity within the workplace. I had a fantastic night and hope to attend again next year.”

Sandeep joined Spratt Endicott in 2015 having moved from Leeds, West Yorkshire. She has practised Family Law since 2006 and has worked for various leading firms within the West Yorkshire region.

She deals with all aspects of Family Law, but particularly enjoys working with parents to resolve disputes involving children. She has experience in representing clients at court in relation to various aspects of Family Law. She prides herself on resolving matters pragmatically for clients at a time when they are distressed.

Sandeep is also a member of Resolution and can speak fluent Punjabi.
